Want a staff or stave with your own personal flaire
but can't decie on a design, well our favorite gypsy Viggo Romanova has an answer for you. Viggo is the artisan who does most
of our staffs and has compiled a list of characteristics that can be combined to form a fun and functional staff for your
magical proceedings, renaissance faire fun, or LARP character. The best thing is, staffs created by way of Viggos list run
at a discounted price ! These are by no means our only designs, we have a large list of staffs to choose from, coming when
we can upload our photos.
Viggos Special:
Choose :
1. Length- specify anywhere from 1-6'
2. Stain- Dark wood- Light wood-meduium wood- any color
3. Up to three carved symbols under the top setting or carving.
4.One of the following to top your staff. *More than one option can be chosen at
additional cost.
Carving - Designs or representational carvings, can be filled, painted or
engraved.
Tassle top- Many dark or light leather tassles stream from a small brass ring at
the top of your staff, the tassles can be beaded fully, at the tips, or not at all, and can end in bits of bone, feathers,
or peices of stone or ceramic.
Obelisk or pyramid top- a semiprecious stone obelisk or pyramid is securely and
stylishly lashed to the top of your staff. NOTE. price may increase with rarity of stone.
Antler topped- Topped with one or two antlers lashed on and polished for a rustic
or druidic look, antlers can be painted at no additional cost.
Cross strung- A dowelish bar of wood is stained matching or opposing
color to your staff and horizontally put through the top. From the bar can be hung feathers, tassles, or any other number
of things which you can specially request.
Mace topped- a spiral of wooden bars descends on either side of the staff down
to about 4 inches above the handle, these can be painted or stained, a globe of wood, glass, or stone can be put on top as
well.
Crystal topped- a bar of crystal can be set in the top of the staff vertically
or through the top horizontally. NOTE. price varies on rarity of crystal. This style can be combined with others and carvings
can be ades for an additional $5
Compass topped- A tfavourite of the travelling bard, a small compass is set on
the top of the staff and the top 4 inches are bound in leather twine, it goes very well when combined with a crystal
going horizontally through the top.
5. Choose a handle.
A handle can be leather wrapped, the length of the leather wrapping is usually
7in up the middle of the staff at hands height though you can add $4.00 for each additional foot of leather wrapping, resulting
in a larger handle section or a leather wrapped staff. The leather wrapping can be done with leather lacing instead of stripping
for an additional $10.00 due to the sheer amount of time it takes to do so.
Combined these options make Viggos special ! A very afforcable expression of yourself
or the character who will use it. All colors and stains are available and interchangeable, though more than four colors
will be charged $3.00 more per color.
