The Troupe

At Arcane Oddities we are all primarily artisans, business is just something we do to allow us to continue to make our art, and to keep us fed and clothed. Here we'd like to tell you a bit about oursleves. If you're interested we are always looking for new members to ad to our happy family of travellers. The onlt criteria being that you can contribute in some way to the shop, whether you're a seamstress, a metalworker,or an alchemist, we guarantee there's a place for you. You also would have to be willing to give up much of your summers to travel around the eastern U.S. setting up shop at various ren-faires. Anyone applying now would be eligible for inclusion in the 2005 summer season.

Our Artisans

These are the names of our artisans, their craft, and the names of their ongoing characters.

Permanent artisans :

Joseph Mascaro- Woodworking and miscellaineous retail. Joe is the creator of all of our wonderful staffs, he has practiced his designing and making of staffas and staves for years and has refined the process to something quite intricate. He has drawn from his own gypsy heritage to create his character. Viggo Romanova.

Robert Carney- Diviner- Bob is a diviner of no small skill, he practices his art frequently and has mastered many types of divination from around the world. His character Raunen is a mystic with who tends to be sarcastic but generally good natured and can usually be seen poring over his books.

David Marconi- Dave is our Alchemist, he brews up his unique and useful creations right at our stand. With a few of Viggo's family recipes, and alot of his own, he can cure what ails ya, or just pour you some "fortune brew". When not brewing his character Peitro can usually be found relaxing at Viggos dice box.

 Guest Artist-

We take comissions from quite a few people who soemtimes pop up to help run the stand. Here we'd just like to thank them for all their help. So heres a warm thank you to Vikki, Jen, Maria, Rocco, Brittany, Jon, Phil and Chris

Are you an artisan or retailer ?

We here at Arcane Oddities know how hard it is to break into a new market. Knowing what it's like we offer anyone who wishes to set up shop in the world of medieval and fantasy festival festivals a chance to come and work with us, peddling their own wares at our shop for a very small  tithe to help pay for expenses. We would normally ask people of skill to come work under the Arcane Oddities name, but some just wish to get to know the scene or gain a foothold for their product, we welcome these people warmly. Because we were just like them not very long ago.

Arcane Oddities

We each started in different branches of the visual and performing arts, and wound up meeting each other through school, and previous acquaintances. We found we all shared a dream, we had so much fin going around to diferent renaissance faires and LARPs that we decided we wanted to get more intoimately involved . We assessed our unique skills and talents and found we had the makings of a travelling troupe of artists and performers. After alot of planning we got oursleves off to a decent start and have been having fun ever since. We're always lookinf ro a few good men and women to add to our numbers.  Most of us are students during the year with part time jobs and our own seperate lives, communicating through e-mails or intermittent get togethers. But in the summer we all meet  at the first faire we're scheduled for, each bringing our own merchandise, and have fun. Depending on space availability we could spend two weeks to two months of the summer at the faires.
